With our dominant victory over Seton, our boys are the 2023 STAC East Divisional Champions! We have not been Divisional Champions since 2015. In the entire sixty-eight-year history of our program, this was our eighth Division Championship.
Leading point scorers on the day were sophomore Nate Raab with 15 points. Nate set his PR in the open 400 with a blazing 54.0 and set his PR in the High Jump with a leap of 5’8.” Senior Dom Panko came in next with 12.5 points, sophomore Ethan Austin had 9.25, sophomore Ethan Vaseleck scored 8, senior Liam Wood ended up with 7.5, and seniors Lucas McPeak and Cade Mulesky each scored 7.25 points. Freshman Evan Grace earned his first Varsity points of his career and came ever closer to breaking that elusive 1:00 mark in the Open 400 with his 1:00.5. Senior Cameron O’Brien, junior Walker Paske, and C. Mulesky all had their PRs in Discus at 111’, 99’1”, and 95’5” respectfully.
Eighth graders Max Harkness and Lincoln Raab each scored 4.25 points meaning they each shattered the previous record for most points scored by an Eighth-grade boy on Varsity Track. The Meet was our scheduled Senior Night and ended with a senior 4 by 400 Relay Team of Dom Panko, Lucas McPeak, Liam Wood, and Ty Near, putting the finishing touches on the regular season, the Division, and their running careers at home.
Our Girls Team also won the Division on this night, the first time in 32 years the Boys and Girls won the Division in the same season and only the second time ever.
