Meet Recap: Norwich
Today we traveled to Norwich for the modified team’s final meet and the varsity team’s final tune up before our end of the year county meet. It was nice to get our parents and spectators back for this meet! We were one of seven schools participating. Coach Horan hopes this meet will be a stepping stone building interest to host an invitational on the same course next year. The course was fast and the day kicked off in dramatic fashion. Sammy Dell outkicked his opponent to win the modified boys race and his second meet in a row, ending the season on a major high note. The modified boys team won the meet with a team score of 27.
Each varsity team was led by a big time performance from each of the top runners. Connor ran a massive 5K PR finishing the race in 20:14 placing him 7th. He was followed by Jake and Lucas. On the girls side Audra finished 2nd overall with a time of 22:42 resulting in a major PR for her as well. Shaylee ran a 5K PR of 26:06 with Alaina and Gabe outkicking a Norwich runner at the end to break 30 minutes for the first time of the season. Both teams are trending in a positive direction heading into Saturday!
