Meet Recap: Tri Meet @ Bing

Forks Track is back in action for the first time in 22 months! Despite only having 6 practices due to the abbreviated season, many of our athletes performed with flying colors! The meet started with the girls distance team picking up right where they left off two years ago showing off their dominance in the 3200M Relay with members Shaylee Meier, Quinn Sirgany, Audra Ackerson, and Pipher Reid recording a victory. Gia Pittarelli added a victory in the 100 with a time of 14.5 and also finished 2nd in Long Jump. Alaina Gumble won the 400 while Shaylee Meier and Angelina Schultz completed the clean sweep of the event for the team. After running a leg on the winning 3200M Relay Team, Audra Ackerson came back and won the open 800 and capped her day off with a 2nd place finish in the 200.

An already great day for the girls was highlighted even further by Gianna Lawrence and Pipher Reid showing that the 22 month hiatus only made them stronger. Gianna Lawrence swept the Long Jump and Triple jump with a new PR of 15’7 1/4’’ in Long Jump improving her to 6th all time. Her distance of 34’2 3/4’’ is just shy of her PR. Pipher Reid ran as the lone girl in the 3K and set a new PR of 10:38.3. The girls team cruised to a victory with 52 points, nearly tripling the totals of Binghamton (18) and Seton (16).

The boys were led with extremely strong performances in the field events. Dubbs Haqq completed the Long Jump and Triple Jump sweep jumping 18’6 1/2’’ and 39’9 3/4’’. The boy pulled off a clean sweep in the Shot Put with Ethan Howell, Bennett Howell, and Vincent Vavra.
