Meet Recap: Golden Bear Invite

Friday night, Forks Track took their talents to Vestal for the Golden Bear Invitational. The night featured many PR’s for the team as well as some first place finishers. Things kicked off on the boys side with the 4x100 team of Tommy Hillis, Dubbs, Josh Nickerson, and Carmine Gross breaking 50 seconds for the first time with a time of 49.69 placing 4th overall. Josh also ran a PR in the 100 with a time of 12.87. The 400 runners broke another barrier with Anthony Schultz (59.18) and Carmine (59.38) breaking 60 seconds for the first time. Anthony also qualified for the 200M Finals.

In the field, the boys brought home three third place finishes. Dubbs placed third in the long jump (18’8 1/4’’) and triple jump (39’5 1/2’’) while Ethan Howell placed third in the Shot Put (35’4 1/4’’).

On the girls side, Audra Ackerson placed 3rd in the 400 (1:06.68) and Quinn Sirgany placed 6th in the 3K (12:32). Alaina Gumble, Alyssa Denton, Alison Dell, Kathryn White and Shaylee Meier all added strong performances on the track as well. The 4x4 team of Alaina, Alyssa, Shaylee, and Audra comfortably won with a blistering time of 4:43.

Not to be outdone by the performances on the track, the girls also had an outstanding day in the field. Gianna Lawrence won Triple Jump with a distance of 34’1 1/2’’ and placed third in Long jump (14’11 1/2’’). Lauren White won Pole Vault with a height of 8’7’’ moving her into sole place of 4th all time. Full Results

Monday Night we head to Owego. The meet starts at 5pm and the bus leaves at 3:45. Spectators are welcome but required to wear masks at all times.
