Meet Recap: Corning and Norwich
This week Norwich and Corning came to Forks for a double dual meet. This means there was actually six separate meets going on: Forks vs. Corning, Forks vs. Norwich, and Norwich vs. Corning, for both the boys and the girls. The meet yielded several outstanding performances for the Blue Devils.
The girls defeated Norwich 58-55 led by a strong day on the track. Against Norwich, Gianna Lawrence, Gabe Dietzman, Audra Ackerson, and Kathryn White all won individual events. The 400M runners of Audra Ackerson, Alaina Gumble, and Shaylee Meier swept the 400 while Gianna Lawrence, Quinn Sirgany, and Nykesa Parliman swept the 400H to give Forks a 18-0 advantage in those events. Against Corning Alison Dell and Jozzlyn Hall joined Audra and Gianna as event winners while the 400M relay team of Alison, Alyssa Denton, Audra, and Gia Pittarelli were victorious. Despite several great performances the girls were defeated by Coring 87.5 to 53.5
On the boys side, Thomas Kapinus won the 400H against both Corning and Norwich while winning the 110H against Norwich and placing 2nd against Corning. Josh Nickerson and Carmine Gross added points in the sprints while Ethan Howell and Bennett Howell won the Shot Put and Discus.
