Meet Recap: Baldwinsville

Last weekend the “Forks Flock” took their talents to Baldwinsville for the 70th Annual Baldwinsville Cross Country Invitational. Our athletes were able to overcome extremely muddy conditions to record some great times and many personal records (PRs) and season best times (SB). The girls finished 7th overall led by Quinn Sirgany’s 14th place finish. Newcomer Grace Harkness recorded an impressive 24th place finish with veteran Kathryn White finishing 28th, which was 38 seconds faster than her performance last year. For the boys, Connor Little led a tight pack of guys to an 11th place team finish. The boys recorded an impressive 1:25 gap time (time difference between the 1st and 5th runner) that was amongst the best of the 29 teams in the race. Despite having a hard week of training, all our athletes posted SB’s or PR’s!

This week we will be a split squad with some athletes headed to Maine Endwell Friday night and some athletes headed to the McQuaid Invitational on Saturday. It is a 1.55 mile double loop that is a very popular course amongst our athletes as well as spectators. McQuaid is a meet full of the best competition in the country and our athletes will be looking to possibly get state ranked. Both are very good spectator courses.
