CFXC caps of a great pre season!

Our Forks Flock got some well deserved rest this weekend as we took Saturday off from racing.  It allowed us to get a very productive training week in as we get ready for Baldwinsville this weekend.  The following weekend we will be a split squad with the majority of our athletes going to a super fast Maine Endwell course Friday night and some of our athletes competing at McQuaid on Saturday.

As we travel to Durgee Junior High School for the Baldwinsville Invitational on Saturday, our new athletes will be able to experience one of the most popular meets of the season.  This course is fair but challenging and we will once again see some extremely talented teams.  The day is split into small school and large school races.  We are competing in the small school races against approximately 30 other teams which are held in the morning.

Course Information:  This is one of the most popular courses for our athletes and spectators.  Traditionally it is a 2.95 mile race but it looks like this year the course has been slightly modified to be 3.1 for a full 5K.  The course starts out doing a loop around the tennis courts and then enters the woods and is largely run on a set of trails.  This will be a good opportunity for athletes to run fast times.  Athletes choosing to run in spikes will be wearing ⅜ spikes.

Parking: Parking is at the school but as the day fills up they have you park further and further away. Factor in a short walk to the course in your arrival time to the meet.

Be sure to check out our website www.cfexchangezone.com and our newly recorded podcast episodes on “The CF Exchange Zone.”  Also our fundraiser on Snap Raise will be launching this week.  As always feel free to contact me with any questions.

"I'm always nervous. If I wasn't nervous, it would be weird. I get the same feeling at all the big races. It's part of the routine, and I accept it. It means I'm there and I'm ready."

—Allyson Felix, Olympic gold and silver medalist
