CF 73, CV 68
In one of the most memorable Dual Meet nights in recent Chenango Forks Track History, our Boys were able to hold off rival Chenango Valley and earn an incredible 73-68 come from behind victory. It was truly a team victory with 16 different guys earning at least one point. Junior Connor Little earned our first win on the track with his blazing 1600 Meter Run in 4:51.9 (with senior Liam Wood getting a hard fought third place). Next, sophomores Nate Raab and Zephen Tompkins, along with Eighth Grader Max Harkness swept the 400 Meter Dash.
Sophomore Kellen Mulesky came from over 100 Meters back on the last lap to win the 800 Meter Run in a close to photo finish. Incredibly, these were Kellen’s first ever points earned on Varsity Track and Field!!! Senior Lucas McPeak also came from behind and then clipped Brandon Hirst at the finish for first place in the 200 Meter Dash (with sophomore Ethan Austin getting third). Not to be outdone, L. Wood outkicked CV down the stretch to win the 3200 Meter Dash in a third consecutive thrilling race.
In the Field, Nate and Lincoln Raab were able to get first and second in the Long Jump, while Ethan Vaseleck was able to earn first place in the Triple Jump and then, in the last event of the night, just barely beat out Jami Williams in the High Jump, clearing 5’10 for the first time in his career!
