The Windsor Invite

Our 2023 Outdoor Track season got off to an amazing start at the New York/Pennsylvania Invitational (aka The Windsor Invite) on April Fool’s Day.  Twenty-five schools attended this meet which started off raining and cold, but ended up being a beautiful upstate New York Spring day.

Fifteen individual Personal Records were set and we had seven competitors make Finals: Junior Kara Condon and Senior Alaina Gumble in the 100 Meter Dash, Senior Lucas McPeak and Alaina Gumble in the 200 Meter Dash, Sophomore Lauren Paske in both the Shot Put and Discus, Sophomore Ethan Vaseleck in the Triple Jump, and Junior Walker Paske in the Shot Put.

Our highest place finishers were Ethan Vaseleck jumping 5’6” to finish Third in the High Jump, Kara Condon (13.64) and Lauren Paske (87’11”) finished Fourth in the 100 Meter Dash and Discus respectfully.  Lucas McPeak (24.33) placed fifth in the 200 Meter Dash, and both our Boys and Girls 3200 Meter Relay Teams finished Fifth overall with times of 10:52.60 and 9:18.80.  Those teams consisted of Eighth Grader Grace Harkness, Sophomore Kendall Little, Freshman Mari Pourby, and Senior Kathryn White for the girls and then Junior Connor Little, Sophomore Zephan Tompkins, Sophomore Nate Raab, and Freshman Kellen Mulesky.

With her throws, Lauren Paske was able to move into 20th Place All Time in School History in the Shot Put and 15th All Time in the Discus.  While Lucas McPeak ran the 8th fastest time in the 200 Meter Dash in School History since we switched our track from yards to meters forty years ago.

Next up for our Blue Devils is our first Home Dual Meet of the season against Class A powerhouse Elmira on Tuesday April 4.
