Being the little brother to a great athlete is tough.  Being only one year younger makes that even more difficult.  And participating in the same sport makes the challenge of stepping out of the family shadow a daunting task.  But Tom Casey did not seem to have much of an issue with not only following in his brother's footsteps, but casting his own massive shadow.

The younger Casey was the first Chenango Forks jumper to break 20 feet in the Long Jump when he leaped 20 feet 4 and a half inches and set a School Record that stood for thirty-five years and is still in our top five All Time.  Tom was also the first jumper to break 41 feet in the Triple Jump, when he hopped, skipped, and jumped 41 feet 6 and a quarter inch, which was our School Record for a dozen years and is also still in our top five of All Time.

Casey made All Conference twice, one time each for the horizontal jumps, and also was the anchor leg of the Class Champion 880 Yard Relay Team in 1962.  He starred along with his brother Jerry on our legendary 1961 League and Class Champion Varsity Team and believe it or not became our first of six pairs of siblings that are in the Hall of Fame.
