Like his twin brother Tony, Frank did not come out for Track until his Junior year, but he was able to pack an absolutely amazing career in just those two seasons.  He was the first Forks trackman to jump over 6 feet in the High Jump (and is still one of only fifteen to ever clear that height in our history).  Of course, in those days, every participant was using the Western Roll technique where the jumper leaps with his body facing the bar as he goes over it, which made clearing 6 feet even more impressive.  And making his leaping ability even more remarkable was the fact that Frank Fragomeni weighed in at 215 pounds, making him one of the biggest students at our school.

Frank was All Conference in the High Jump twice and the Class Champion in the event two years in a row as well.  But the truly astonishing thing was that High Jump was Frank's second best event.  He was also All Conference and two time Class Champion in the Discuss, not to mention that he qualified for the State Meet two years in a row for that event.  In fact, Frank still has our School Record (with an insane 12 foot advantage over second place) in the Discuss, throwing 159 feet 4 inches.

A huge football star as our starting quarterback, after high school Frank joined the famed University of Tennessee to play linebacker in 1970 and 1971.  The 1970 team went 11-1 and won the Sugar Bowl, while the 1971 team finished 10-2 and won the Liberty Bowl.  Frank played behind two time All American Jackie Walker (the first black captain of any SEC squad and the still NCAA record holder for most interceptions returned for a touchdown for a career).
