Forks Harrier- Baldwinsville
Last week our athletes competed at the Owego Night Invitational. This was a fun change of pace for our athletes who were able to compete in a “low key” meet with 34 other schools. Our girls placed third in the small school division while our boys placed 11th!
This week we will be traveling to Baldwinsville. The following weekend we will be a split squad with the majority of our athletes going to a super fast Maine Endwell course Friday night and some of our athletes competing at McQuaid on Saturday.
As we travel to Durgee Junior High School for the Baldwinsville Invitational on Saturday, our new athletes will be able to experience one of the most popular meets of the season. This course is fair but challenging and we will once again see some extremely talented teams. The day is split into small school and large school races. We are competing in the small school races against approximately 50 other teams which are held in the morning.
7:30 Bus
10:20 Boys Modified Small School 1.5 Miles
10:40 Girls Varsity Small School 3.1 Miles
11:10 Boys Varsity Small School 3.1 Miles
Course Information: This is one of the most popular courses for our athletes and spectators. Traditionally it is a 2.95 mile race but recently has been modified to be 3.1 for a full 5K. The course starts out doing a loop around the tennis courts and then enters the woods and is largely run on a set of trails. This will be a good opportunity for athletes to run fast times. Athletes choosing to run in spikes will be wearing ⅜ spikes. Map
Parking: Parking is at the school but as the day fills up they have you park further and further away. Factor in a walk to the course in your arrival time to the meet.
Fundraiser: We will be starting our fundraiser this week through the Gold Athletics App. Athletes will be entering email addresses and/or phone numbers for potential participants in the fundraiser. It is a coffee fundraiser that also has an option to make straight donations to the team. If you have any questions please reach out and I will be happy to answer them.
Be on the lookout for our first podcast episode of the season “The CF Exchange Zone” which will be posted soon.
Our roster page will also be updated with pictures of the athletes soon.
